Fruiting Body

Cup or disk shaped, with a short stem, inner surface smooth, grey, outer surface coarsely hairy, brown, margin pale, to about 0.5 mm across, forming distinct clumps of many fruiting bodies

Habitat

In small clumps, on dead wood from deciduous trees, usually on twigs

Microscopic Features

Spores sausage shaped, smooth (7.5-11) x (2-3) µm2. Basidia four spored. Hairs at cap margin rough with smooth club shaped tips.

Edibility

Unknown but of no value

Notes

Unlike M. anomala, this species forms small distinct clumps rather than one large swarm.
